Description

Banana pancakes are not only a delicious breakfast option but can also be a boon for your digestive health. Packed with fiber, potassium, and other essential nutrients, these pancakes can aid digestion and keep your gut happy. Here’s a simple recipe to whip up a batch of fluffy banana pancakes that are as good for your taste buds as they are for your tummy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup almond milk (or any milk of your choice)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional toppings: sliced bananas, berries, Greek yogurt, honey

Instructions

Step 1:

  • In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.

Step 2:

  • Add the whole wheat flour, baking powder, honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, almond milk, and a pinch of salt to the mashed bananas.
  • Mix until well combined into a smooth batter.

Step 3:

  • Heat a non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat.
  • Once hot, pour a ladleful of batter onto the pan to form a pancake.
  • Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook the other side until golden brown.
  • Repeat with the remaining batter.

Step 4:

  • Serve the banana pancakes warm, topped with sliced bananas, berries, a dollop of Greek yogurt, and a drizzle of honey if desired.

Notes

  • For extra fiber, you can add a tablespoon of ground flaxseed or chia seeds to the batter.
  • Ensure your pan is well-heated before pouring the batter to prevent sticking and ensure even cooking.
  • Feel free to customize your pancakes with your favorite toppings such as nuts, seeds, or a sprinkle of cinnamon.
