Ingredients
- 4 medium tomatoes, sliced
- 8 ounces fresh mozzarella, sliced (look for low-sodium options)
- Fresh basil leaves
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
Step 1
- Slice the tomatoes and mozzarella cheese into even slices.
- Aim for about 1/4 inch thickness for uniformity.
Step 2
- Arrange the tomato and mozzarella slices on a serving platter or individual plates, alternating between tomato and cheese slices.
Step 3
- Tuck whole basil leaves between the slices of tomato and mozzarella for added flavor and a burst of color.
Step 4
- Drizzle the olive oil and balsamic vinegar over the arranged salad.
- Season with freshly ground black pepper to taste.
