- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 4 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
For the Glaze:
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter
- 3 tablespoons water
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
Instructions
Step 1:
- Preheat the oven to 325°F.
- Grease and flour a 12-cup bundt pan thoroughly.

- In a large bowl or stand mixer, combine all cake ingredients. B
- eat on low until moistened, then increase to medium for 3 minutes.
- Spoon the batter into the prepared pan, spreading evenly.
- Bake for 55 to 65 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
Step 3:
- Meanwhile, prepare the glaze over low heat until the butter melts.
- Do not boil.
Step 4:
- Once baked, leave the cake in the pan, piercing it all over with a fork.
- Pour the hot glaze over the warm cake, letting it absorb for 5 to 10 minutes.
- Carefully turn out the cake onto a plate, cool, and serve. Dust with confectioner’s sugar if desired.
