Eid al-Adha is a festive day, full of feasting and celebration. This Lamb and Mushroom Pie recipe is the perfect dish for the Eid al-Adha menu, combining tender lamb and flavorful mushrooms into a delicious pie.

- 500g lamb, diced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 200g mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 sheet of puff pastry
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
Step 1:
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until translucent.
- Add the diced lamb to the skillet and cook until browned.
Step 2:
- Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they are tender.
- Season with cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste.
Step 3:
- Roll out the puff pastry sheet and line a pie dish with it.
- Fill the pie crust with the lamb and mushroom mixture.
- Cover the pie with another sheet of puff pastry or create a lattice pattern with strips of pastry.
Step 4:
- Brush the pastry with beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and crispy.
- Serve hot and enjoy your delicious Lamb and Mushroom Pie.
