Description

This Savory Lamb Burgers for Eid al-Adha blends the rich flavors of traditional Eid al-Adha lamb dishes with the creative concept of a modern hamburger for a unique and delicious festive dining experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground lamb
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 4 burger buns
  • Lettuce leaves, tomato slices, and sliced red onion for garnish

Instructions

Step 1:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb, chopped onion, minced garlic, ground cumin, ground coriander, paprika, salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley.
  • Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed throughout the meat.

Step 2:

  • Divide the lamb mixture into 4 equal portions.
  • Shape each portion into a patty, about 1/2 inch thick.

Step 3:

  • Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  • Place the lamb patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.

Step 4:

  • While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill for about 1-2 minutes, until they are warm and slightly crispy.

Step 5:

  • Assemble your lamb burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a lamb patty, tomato slices, and sliced red onion.
  • Top with the remaining half of the bun.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a dash of your favorite hot sauce or a slice of cheese to your lamb burgers.
  • Don’t overwork the meat when forming the patties, as this can result in tough burgers. Mix until just combined.
  • If you prefer, you can also cook the lamb burgers indoors on a grill pan or in a skillet over medium-high heat.
