Description
This delicious Scallops with Garlic Butter Sauce combines fresh jumbo scallops with an aromatic garlic butter sauce that is tender and refreshing, making it a simple yet sophisticated seafood dish.
Ingredients
- 12 large scallops, fresh or thawed if frozen
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Lemon wedges, for serving
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Scallops
- Pat the scallops dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- Season both sides of each scallop with salt and pepper.
Step 2: Sear the Scallops
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking.
- Carefully add the scallops to the skillet, making sure they are not overcrowded.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and caramelized. Avoid moving them too much to ensure a nice sear.
- Once cooked, transfer the scallops to a plate and cover loosely with foil to keep warm.
Step 3: Make the Garlic Butter Sauce
- In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium. Add the butter and minced garlic.
- Cook, stirring constantly, until the garlic becomes fragrant and lightly golden, about 1-2 minutes.
- Stir in the chopped parsley and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Cook for another 1-2 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
Step 4: Serve
- Arrange the seared scallops on a serving platter or individual plates.
- Spoon the garlic butter sauce generously over the scallops.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
