- 6 3/4 ounces (190 grams) sourdough starter
- 3 1/2 ounces (100 grams) milk
- 2 large eggs
- 3 1/2 ounces (100 grams) all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 1/2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 tablespoons (20 grams) unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
Step 1:
- Preheat your waffle iron to medium or dark setting and preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C).
Step 2:
- In a large bowl, whisk together sourdough starter, milk, and eggs until well combined.
- In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
- Combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture. Add melted butter and mix until just combined.
Step 3:
- Ladle the batter onto the preheated waffle iron.
- Cook for about 4 minutes until golden brown and fragrant. Cooking time may vary depending on your waffle iron.
- Keep the first batch warm in the oven while you cook the rest. Once done, serve immediately.
Step 4:
- Any leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to three days.
- Reheat before serving.
