Spooky Witch Hat Cookies are a fun and delicious snack to make and share during the Halloween season.
Ingredients

- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 12 chocolate kiss candies
- Orange food coloring
- Optional: Halloween-themed sprinkles or edible glitter
Instructions
Step 1:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2:
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Set aside.
Step 3:
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Add a few drops of orange food coloring to achieve a Halloween-inspired hue.
Step 4:
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a smooth dough forms.
Step 5:
- Shape the dough into 12 equal-sized balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spaced a few inches apart.
Step 6:
- Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are set and just starting to turn golden brown.
Step 7:
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven and immediately press a chocolate kiss candy into the center of each cookie, flat side down, to create the “witch hat” shape.
- Allow the cookies to cool completely on the baking sheet.
